The Arhodiko was built in 1926 by the family of Konstantinos Gidas. It is one of the most representative neoclassical stone houses of all those, that were built here in the beginning of the 20 century. Most of them are kept good until today. In the end of the 19 century people began to build the first neoclassical houses at Neohori. The owner have been businessmen and sailors. These had contacts with foreign countries and were impressed by the beauty of the new classicism style they have seen.
As building materials natural Pelion slate, marble and chestnut-wood were used. These ecological materials give the houses a particularly healthy indoor climate and a pleasant ambiance till today. (page 2)

In 1956 the teacher Nikolaus Prepalas bought the house and since then it belongs to the family Prepalas. In 2003 the restoration of the house started. This initiative was taken by Georgios Prepalas and his wife Rena. On the basis of intensive architecturally studies by Vivi Koulourida (architect) and Makis Skouras (engineer) the house was restored into a traditional hotel, the „Arhodiko”. In 2006 the works finished and the interior equipment of the house was accomplished. In the end of 2006 we welcomed our first guests.
Regarding the results of the whole works, we are glad to offer our guests a traditional Hotel, respecting the complete comforts that they are expecting. At the same time we are pleased to enrich the region with a further restored neoclassical house. (back)
